Assist me PT le8 Uaudio problem

Hiya y'all


I recently bought uad card 1 all was ok with the standard plugins and demo's

I then bought a plugin with vouchers and had to download a new auth file up to now nothing wrong right, till you go and start again


errror message starting PT couldnt determine 4cc id!

if you blindly go on PT works but the uaudio plugins dont appear anymore in the menu only the standard free ones

damn annoying cos I will lose all the demo not tried yet and the new one

I opened tt with uaudio but who know when they will respond

any suggestions !!!!!

if you're on PC

uninstall uad software and drivers.
download "ccleaner" from web. use the ccleaner registry cleaner.
remove uad card.
restart pc.
re-install software making sure you tick the uad rtas box and mono versions box (without uad card in system). also make sure you're on the latest UAD software - 5.3 is the current and is available from the site.
turn off pc.
slot uad card into correct slot (make sure its pci for pci or pcie for pcie).
start pc.
wait until you get found new hardware dialog (can take a minute or two after re-start).
install.

go to your "myuad" account. re-download auth file. drag and drop onto your uad performance meter.

this should work for you.

also, if you have the 3gb boot.ini switch enabled at start-up add this

/USERVA=2900

uad cards need to access kernel memory to initialise and without the userva=2900 there is no memory for them to read.

obviously if you've never enabled the 3gb switch then this doesnt matter.

This is all I could find on the DUC. I am thinking it may be more of a UA problem. Try their support and come back here.

What version of PT/Applesystem are you running. There are definite issues
with UAD with PT8/HD.

its fixed

after several attempts by uaudio they finally directed me how to uninstall and re-authorise uad install.

I got the reset procedure and handy rtas helper app from them along the way

all the error messages & problems were caused by bad procedure to authorise new plug in or maybe incorrect one by me... but hey its not clear...
