Poor View of stage at concert

    Hello,

I went to a concert recently and the view of the stage from my seat was obstructed by part of the structure of the building. I asked to be moved but the staff although agreeing that the view was poor would do nothing and told me to complaint to the company that sold me the ticket.

When I complained to said company they told me to complain to the venue which I duly did. The venue said there is nothing wrong with the view and refused to acknowledge that I had a valid complaint.

How am I fixed here? The ticket I purchased was the most expensive for the gig and the three people I was with all agreed the view was lousy.

    Thanks..

What was the venue and what was the structure blocking your view. Most venues will state if there is restricted viewing from certain seats at the point of purchase.

    What was the venue?

Did it say restricted view on your ticket?

No mention of restriced view on ticket. Id rather not say the venue. But the venue said there was nothing wrong with the view from that seat.

I am afraid that there's not much help people can be to you here without knowing the name of the venue. In fairness, you have taken the correct course by making your reservations known at the time to the venue and through the other channels. So it's not that you are coming hear to moan instead of following it up with the venue!

If you share the venue name and the seat location then perhaps others may have had a similar experience and be of help. The venue may even take note of your disatisfaction and take action.

Even if you don't want to name the venue, what was blocking your view of the stage?

Im guessing olympia or Vicar st, although both these used to have warnings on restricted view seats when you bought them from ticket master www

I did take and send in a picture. No mention of restricted view on the ticket.

What is the point in asking for opinions if the op wont even say the venues name?

i was at the rds for a rugby match last year. there is a seat that has a pillar directly in front of it. i mean, literally, directly in front of it. there is no leg room. if you had to sit there you'd have to stand on the seat and you'd still no be able to see anytihng. luckily, it wasn't sold out and we just moved a few times until we all got seats.

the fact that the venue has a seat there, a seat with a number and actually continues to sell tickets for this seat is shocking.

OP good luck with your case

I went to see UB40 & The Stranglers at The Point (t'was a few years back) and we had the most expensive tickets available in the expectation of the best seats/view.

How wrong we were  We were to the left of the stage in the upper wings but were so high that the lighting rigs were below us and all we could see was the feet of the guys in the band

    Sounded good though.

I have spoken to the Small Claims court in relation to this issue and they informed I have a valid claim in principle.

As I will be taking TM to the small claims court I don't want to risk jeopardizing the case if I post the pictures here. I would have otherwise.

    Thanks...

Fair play. Let us know how you get on. Glad to see someone doing something about it!
