The same happened to me. I bought the phone yesterday and was porting from 3 billpay. I rang O2 this morning at 11 to ask what's going on. The guy said there was a problem yesterday with the port but he'll do it again. He asked for my 3 account number and said it would take up to 2 hours to port. Sure enough, after 2 hours I got a text (on my 3 phone) from O2 saying to turn on my iPhone as the port has gone through and also a text from 3 saying my number is about to port (and that I have to ring them about billing). A few seconds later my 3 signal disappeared and my iPhone started to work. Hope you're not stuck till Monday!

Same happened to me, changed over at 4pm on Sat and at 2pm on Sunday there was no change so called o2 customer service...girl in the shop had never put the request through! Not impressed with the service from the shop to date as she also forgot to call me after initally purchasing the phone.

What's that 2hours wait all about anyway?

My port from Vodafone to O2 took only 30 mins or so on Friday. The approval of the contract took hours alright, but that was due to Fax-machine problems in O2 head office. The porting itself was very quick.

    That's pretty crappy, tbh.

So, was it worth the wait?

I believe the delays in the porting process had to do with approving the paperwork. No excuse I know but if the paperwork was not cleared before the porting hours closed the port was postponed until the next day.
