Next Saturday 4th of July in the Manor inn Swords €60 deep stack long blinds. Starting to reg at 2 pm cards in the air at 3pm sharp a great day of poker . A limited amount of seats are available to this game our leauge final. Starting stack of 10,000 with 30 min blinds all day we are adding €1200 to the prise pool. our regular players in the manor inn in Swords and O'Conners in Ballyboughal have been playing for the last 12 weeks for this so all winners have won bonus chips to add to their starting stack. The value for you sharks out there is that they have paid for the €1200 add on so you get to play in a 60 to 70 player tournie for €60 incl of reg for an estimated prisepool of €4200. not bad for a Saturday afternoons entertainment also there will be plenty of food and hopefully some beer promotions and the regular 5 free pints for best hand and lots of other spot prises. I wouldnt be too happy if I was playing in a league final that I had contributed to over a 12 week period to find that players can buy in on the day to the final and win our league money! I thought league finals were to reward players for their continuing loyalty?

And when you say you are adding €1200 to the prize-pool, is that out of your own pocket, or is it money deducted from the various league games during the 12 weeks? Like, is it the regular players that are adding the €1200 to the prize-pool?

I wont be playing in the game regardless, just asking some questions that boards members normally like answers to and giving as bit of advice which is what this forum is about. It would be a help if you followed the charter when posting up details of the tourney.

Good luck with your tourney anyway.

    WOW.... Shez
Makes me wonder did you inform your "regulars" about this invite at their expense... and if not are they not going to be suprised about all the "sharks" trying too take their hard slogged €1200 league fund, easy to see it's not your money your putting up for grabs... THIS HAS TO BE A WIND UP....
Nobody would rool over their regulars like this....

Just to answer your questions , Right from the start our aim was to have a deep stack game for the regulars to play we run 2 games in Swords(average runners 25 to 35) and in Ballyboughal(average runners 15 to 20) some guys play on both nights. Right from day one we put up posters stating that the game will be capped to 60 players and that tickets were available to our regular players to buy or win (tournie winners win half a ticket with their cash prise paid out of the reg by us) and that its up to them to purchase in advance. We are also trying to attract new players and to build the prise pool. Our regulars also have a chip advantage on the day that they have built up on over he last 12 weeks . We stated that if we do not sell out we will open it up. Our aim is to run a good value game with a good structure and to be honest we are trying to build our games and attract new players to provide bigger and better games in the future. Myself (damien) and Kevin are new to running tournies and anyone that has played with us know we offer good value. we never take a full rake for ourselfs as we put in extras like the 5 pints for best hand and we have hot food( Kevins famous spicy chicken ad chippe chips) with crisps and nachos around the tables.
as for following the tournie charter I dont know what it is so if you let me know I will .We are new to boards so we are not aware of all of the rules for this I apolagise.
I will be pleased to answer any other questions you have.
    Regards
    DamienMcD.

Thanks to the comments we got we contacted some of our regular players and we have concluded that we were wrong to open up the tournie so we hold our hands up and say we were wrong and we made a misteake. So to amend our first post the tournie will be a regular €60 freezeout and the €1200 on top will be paid out to the top 5 finishers from the manor inn and O'Conners regular players.
Again sorry for the confusion, and we do take on board all comments good and not so good.

    Regards

Sounds good damien. I wasn't critisising your game, just giving a bit of friendly advice. If you had gone ahead with the game you were planning, and if one of the "sharks" you let buy-in scooped the money, I'm pretty sure you'd have a lot less regulars in the weeks afterwards.

As for the charter, theres a list of questions that operators must answer when they wish to post up details of a tournament. This is so that members of boards.ie can make an informed decision from that information as to whether they will play in the game or not.
If you dont post your tournament properly, the mods on here will delete your post until you do .

Details are in the sticky at the top of the page, or if you like, open up a thread I started last week,(its on the 1sr page I think) titled The Kerry Deepstack, and you'll see the charter questions answered.

Best of luck with the tourney,

    Connie

What can I say "the man who never made a mistake......"
It's not easy for operators to make money now... less players .. less money.. so you gotta look after what you have(regulars) and build on that!
I wish you the best of luck with the tournie, hope it's a success.

Yes sir they do they have played over the last 12 weeks so that stands, in hindsight we should have had a private day or the regulars and an open day in the near future.
However the way that it has worked out the tournie stands and will go ahead but the extra €1200 will be won by the top 5 finishers from the regular players , they will have a chip advantage so it will be up to the individuals if they want to play with a starting stack of 10,000. the average stack will be plus 1500 to 2000 extra.

    regards

    DamienMcD.
