Week 1 started off with a bang in Massimo. Twenty Eight runners contributed to a great first evening, with all enjoying a fun game of poker. A crowd of staff from the eglinton casino were in to see off one of their numbers and baffled people with their unique playing styles which really hinged on any two cards and gamble, gamble, gamble. In the end though it was Paul Murphy and Dave Quinlan who walked off with top points. Hope to see more of you there next week.

Week 1 in Bodkins was a quiet affair. Numbers were obviously hurt by the sudden change from the Racing Lodge wihich closed without warning. So there is still plenty to play for over the coming weeks.

Rabbitts had a good crowd on week one and is well suited to such a tournament. The playing area is nice and spacious and right beside the bar for those who like their deoch. Another good game and a few firsttimers made for an enjoyable night for all especially those who won. The King is alive.

    Lady Mavrick,

The tour thats going on now is a small trial run to work out any possible kinks.
Come September the league is going national, targeting 250 pubs across the land. The tour in September will be a 12 week league with an estimated prizepool of €50,000. Chances are we'll make our way to most spots in the country. Watch this space or if you have any other questions im more than happy to do my best to answer them.

Final week in Rabbitt's was an entertaining one. Two spots to play for but one of those was sealed early When Elvis went out in tenth, early days for a man who wanted to make sure of a spot but that one point proved vital. 4th place was the only place up for grabs and went down to the wire. With four players remaining it still hadnt being decided until Cathal, pushed all in on brendan just before realising his mistake. Brendan called, Ciarán made third spot and just enough points to kill Cathal's chances of qualifying. Good entertainment all round.

    Padraic Ganley 2 pts
    James Maino 3pts
