What is up with the march in at the central bank today organised by "Hands off people of Iran" group.
I think this is just another reason for people to bitch and moan about the bad in the world.
Whatever about marching against something to do with your own country but since when have Irish people cared about what happens in Iran?
I think people do these marches just to show others how good and thoughtful they are.
    What's everyone else's opinion?

What's wrong with expressing your opinion?

Was that some sort of Iranian Pride thing blocking up the city then? I was wondering what that was. Traffic through the city was certainly very queer for the time of morning.. had to go up a few back alleys to get around. took the ring road, and got a good rach around the majority of it though

Took a while, but grin and bear it, it's all for a good cause and all

    ;)

There should be protest lanes on the roads, like bus lanes... make life easier for everyone.

How did you get racism out of that?

Yes, we should just keep our snouts in the trough. Whoever looks up has something wrong with them.

I wonder if it had anything to do with poor Neda.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭Richie860504

No I won't say it has anything to do with Neda.
There's nothing wrong with expressing opinions either.
But could the people on the march today not stand at the side of the road and hold there little protest instead of holding up traffic in the middle of the city.
Iran is 3000 miles away. What good will a protest over here do for the people over there.
What about all these people helping out the homeless and other unfortunates in their own country.
Does anybody even know if these people marched to the Iranian embassy?

I think we should sort out or own **** first :P

Sure what people are we to be showing example of solidarity.
The only solidarity I've seen in this country in years was at the protest marches by the workers.
I wonder do these people that were out on the march, stop when they see someone with a flat tyre at the side of the road. Probably not but they'll protest about something 3000 miles away, that will not change anything

And there were people on whinging about that too. If you stick your head up, theres always some prick to tell you to put it down again.

My only question is why do people cause so much disruption for somewhere like that.
Does anybody honestly think if whats happening in Iran happened here that the Iranians would be out on the street for us.
    They wouldn't bother their holes.
    It's a joke.
Sort out the problems here before we try to sort out the rest of the worlds.

How about people ahowing a bit of real anger towards the bare-faced corruption closer to home?

I'll get the pitchforks and flaming turf.

    Good man Tchaikovsky,
Today could have been used for a march against the government cutting the money at Crumlin Childrens Hospital than for walking around streets for a country that nobody in Ireland cared about before.

what do they want our Government to do?
When their own government does not care about them?

Do you now what?, when ever someone says "Boo" towards a black person they run off for there rights, well there still running in Iran

As a "Hoops" fan myself I found the marches all over Iran by the Iranian Shamrock Rovers Supporters club to bring the Hoops back to Milltown incredibly moving.

On a more serious note though I found the taunting of the Iraqi St.Pat's Supporters Club ("You're not singing anymore" etc.) following "shock and awe" absolutely sickening.

This is the sort of thing football can well do without.
