UPC digibox with friend's card?

A lovely norweigen friend of mine recently cancelled her UPC account and moved back to Norway.

She kindly gave me her digibox and card for my mam to watch digi tv in bed.

We are legit UPC customers but didn't want to pay the extra 15 quid a month.

Unfortunety the box won't work cos the card is cancelled. I tried using our own card in it but that won't work.

Is there anyway my friend's gifted upc box can be used?

    Cheers!

Cards are paired with boxes, so your card will only work in your box.

The box was not your friends to give, since it is the property of UPC, technically you are in receipt of stolen goods..

Thread closed, due to the dodgy ground on which it stumbles.

    Query answered anyway.
