Was using PS3 last night when during the game the screen went blank, fiddled with cable & found if i gently pushed cable, in back of tv, upwards the picture came back.
Presumed cable screwed so I took out the old one (i replaced it as was .75m & bit too short)
Now with that one connected im getting "Check sigal cable" but it was working fine previously.
DO i need to buy another cable or is it something else?

    Any thoughts?

Have you got another hdmi in on the back of your telly you could try? Or another hdmi telly you could try the cable on?

Have 3 HDMI slots, tried the two at the back, still states check signal cable. The cable is .75m so wont reach the side of tv, id have to move all wires for PS3 etc. Don't have another HDTV to check.
Its working via scart at the moment, think ill buy a new cable just to be sure.
A housemate was fiddlin with NTL cable so may have damaged HDMI by accident.

Well you can pick up a new one in tesco or dunnes for 20 quid so it's not too expensive. If you "hold" down the power on the front of the ps3 (while it's on) until you hear the beeps (when it turns off) it should then output to whatever you have it connected with the next time you turn on. I think!

Yep try this, have 2 HDTVs in the house. When I switch from one to another I get the same problem.

I changed to scart, then put in a diff HDMI cable, held reset button till heard beep & PS3 recognised HDMI & has been working grand since.
I reckon the cable I had took a knock & didn't connect properly. They are so fragile its unbelievable.
Rule is always to have a spare cable

    €7.50 argos ;)
