I'm with the Addiction Services from my sins for over 12 years now. I came accross this issue the other day that made me laugh the other day, but tbh on reflection it is actually a sad state of affairs. As I entered a community based methadone clinic the other day I came accross a sign warning the clients of dodgy valium.

None of my clients have taken them, so all I have is mixed reports from community workers. They are white tablets marked PV, the clients were being told that this stood for "perfect valium" or "paramceutical valium" [the bit that mede me laugh].

Any my point in posting this theard is that some of the GPs may work with methadone client who additionally abuse benzos. I heard reports of people losing hair as a result of taking these, so you may encounter this in your practice.

Also out of interest I was wondering if anyone could identify them. Some of the clients are still taking them even though they now know they are not valium, stating they are still getting something out of them [the sad part].

It appears to localised within West Dublin, so it might help someone identify a problem as I said. Anyway I am familiar with most drugs of abuse, so I don't know what they are, some of you guys might. But it really says alot about how some people are within themselves that they will take this type of risk.

I mean if you are benzo dependent they aren't going to help and there is no shortage of street benzos out there.
