    http://www.carzone.ie/search/Ford/Focus-RS/305-BHP/200924193046131/advert?channel=CARS

    compared to an r32 yes

comparing to to rs4s, m3s, 911s etc doesnt make as much sense,

its the king of the hot hatches, but its still a hot hatch

    spot on imo
cracking car, king and queen of the hot hatches imo at the moment, but in a slightly lower league to M3's or RS4's.

It's a lot of quick car for €46k, if you have €46k that is.

Given that so few of these will probably find homes here it could be a collector's item in a few years time.

    Skyline R34 Vspec For €40k.
That's 510bhp and some crazy tech in that car.
Much better deals to be had imo.

    €16k + €9k VRT = €25k. Not so cheap now...

And woot - your mum is looking to buy an M3   :D

Still better value than the RS for €46k imo.
I know I'd have the M3 with electric leather seats, more power and MUCH better looks, over the RS any day.
And more than €20k under the price?! BARGINE!

Haha, yes. She's still hung up on the tax but I'll win her over.
Just have to convince her to test drive one and I know the smile factor will definitely come into play.

Edit: Best part is, I get to learn to drive in my Mam's car.
How fricken sweet would that be?! :D:P

Dishing out advise on what to buy before you can drive is a bit amateurish..
Driving a few cars , and more importantly own a few cars gives a much more balanced view on whats important day to day than the usual rubber stamp of "buy an M3".

I'd rather go second hand also myself, personally a 911/Boxter/RS4/6 would be in my drive.

I see everyone missed he said S4 not RS4 yeah? And comparing a new anything to a second hand top end something is pointless, obviously in terms of value or bhp per Euro no new car is going to trump something used and formally top spec.

Compared to the new Supercharged B8 S4 at EUR78k (min) it is indeed better value. Its not "better" though and as mentioned an entirely different type of car.
