Did anybody notice the poll in the Herald AM this morning? Bafflling!
I don't know if it was just a series of misprints, a confused writer or just me not copping on.
I was going to explain what its about and what I found confusing but maybe its better I just post the Poll for you to see for yourself!

It means: Would you give up package holidays and holiday at home. Whats confusing about that?

I think you didnt read it close enough.

It's not very well worded, but hey - it's a tabloid.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

With half more than half? Yes he writes English goodly.

Thats only one small problem. What about the fact that the explanation text gives a different result than the graph?
Or that it asks " would you holiday at home" or would you be a "patriot" and not mind? Is that not the same thing!!
A patriot sticks "to these shores".

Wouldn't you want to like to know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,301 ✭✭✭artvandulet

    So the question ultimatetly is...

Would you holiday at home or would you stick to these shores?

With the answer being inconclusive. :D

Just that title and the graph and you have a straight forward poll that makes sense. The rest of it is gibberish though!

The title says we'd stay at home and the description says we'd go abroad.

    Perfectly cromulant.

Me fail english? Thats unpossible :D

Yups, hims asks if you would put patriotism over sunworshipping when choosing where to holiday. Would the risk of inclement weather deter you from holidaying here, or would patriotism wins at ending of the days?

Its basically asking you whether you want to have:

A holiday with days spent sitting on a dirty beach, looking at whales in bikinis while hearing the delicate tone of scumbags whispering on the wind. Your swimming will be interrupted by numerous floating items such as Deckies shorts which were ripped off him by "da boyz". Your meals out will consist of shouldering your way through a swarm of welfare parasites to get a battered burger that resembles a cold dead ****. You will be lucky to come out of your holiday with even a euro shop tan on you.

    OR

A holiday abroad. Your days can be spent sitting on a proper beach, with a big bag of ice cold san miguel, 40c+ heat, and women who not only fit their bikinis, but also only wear half of them. Your swimming will only be interrupted by the pedallo full of the lads pulling up beside you with emergency cans. Your meals out will consist of quality food in a nice setting with lashings of cheap drink. You will return from the holiday as tanned as coffee.

So yes, that poll makes absolutley no sense at all.

My God.... it makes perfect sense now. How could I have been so foolish to think it was confusing.

Thank you Cianos. You've shed a light for me.
