It looks like O2 are taking some flak today for the way things are going with respect to the iPhone.

So, if you are getting the run around, Daryll from O2 has agreed to help out as best he can, if you request some help here (I should point out that this thread was my idea, not Daryll's).

    But first, teh rulez.

    • Be nice. Shouting at Daryll will get you nowhere. Vent on another thread, not this one. If I see anyone giving Daryll abuse, I will take action.
    • No personal informaton. Don't post your name/mobile no./IMEI no. here. Use the PM function
    • Daryll will do his best, but things seem to be a bit chaotic at O2 Central today, so please be patient

Im a meteor customer moving over to o2 next month for the iphone, my meteor contract will be up on the 30th of July, so when would I have to go into the store to get it (assuming I swont have to pay cancelation fees). I mean well I want the phone as quick as possible but at the same time not to pay much in the way of cancelation fees with meteor. When would be best to come in and get one in terms of my contract.

Also (sorry if this is dragging) but what are the stock levels going to be like over the next few weeks (seeing as I will buying it over that period)? Would I be best calling the store and asking them to keep one aside if possible the day they come in?

    Thanks

If it is the 32GB you are looking for. I probably won't know more until next week when I get an update on further shipments. As far as I am concerned these have probably sold out and there are only 16GB's and 8GB's left in the stores.

Does this always happen or have you recently joined the network? PM me your number so I can take a closer look.

To be honest I still do not see an issue with the stock over the next couple of weeks. this might bite me in the ass but If you wait until the end of your contract with meteor and move to O2 on your bill cycle date you should not see any cancellation fees with them and your final bill will only be for calls made in your last couple of weeks without your line rental.

If your don't mind paying off the final month of your contract with Meteor. You can buy one online right now or in a store tomorrow..

Hi Daryll, just wondering if there was any chance of you finding out when the O2 store in Fermoy should be getting their delivery in the morning. I spoke to them earlier and they said that they should be getting a couple of 32gb tomorrow. I'm supposed to be working so I cant hang around all day.
    Any info would be appreciated

    Hi Daryl, hows tricks?

I have a question regarding o2 clear 350..this is the one for 50 euro/month when joining o2,no handset required. Im a bit confused as the whole idea of the o2 clear plan is that there is no lengthy contract, just 30 days notice, great.

So with the 350 option , it states that you get a free extra, such as 500mb data, 02 to 02 calls etc etc...but then in tiny writing under the terms, its says that there is a minimum contract of 12 or 18 months ,depending on what plan you are on..Does this also apply to the clear plans with 30 days notice? Or does this only apply if you sign up to a lengthy contract in the first place.

    Thanks for any info.

    Hey,

I'm away at the moment and lost my 3G 16gig iPhone this morning. Won't get around to filling outclaim forms etc until Monday. I am about to call O2 to inform them. I have insurance. Do you think I will get the new 3GS as my replacement or is there still stock of the old version left?

    Thanks,

    Emma

Hey everybody I am on speakeasy with the iPhone 3gs and on the o2 website it says thAt if you top up by €20 in one go you get free calls and texts to o2 numbers. I've topped up by 20 but I'm still being charged for calls and texts. Is there something I need to do?

i think it can take up to 48 hours for the free call/text to kick in - has it passed that timeframe yet?

It is only applys to the accounts that are already in contract. If you are on the sim only plan you will remain on it. Do you want one of these extras?

I think I might have solved the problem....I had to manually switch from night owl plan to o2 experience plus on o2.ie. Hopefully it will be fine now.

Hi Daryl. Yes , I do want one of these extras.I'm after the 500mb data.

Slight problem, I rang 3 to cancel, but they say I have to give 30 days notice. So that means I'll be ready to join o2 next month, but it says on the 02 website that the offer with the free extras on the clear 350 plan ends at the end of july. Considering I cant move to o2 until early-mid August, does that mean I wont be able to avail of the free extra? Thanks.

Also, is there any problem with buying a speakeasy iphone 3gs@519 euro, and then signing up to the clear 350 plan and using the phone on this plan?

I want to do this as I dont want to sign an 18month contract, or have to top up my phone all the time...

It is true that the current end date for the offer is the end of the month however this might be carried forward to the next month again. I cannot guarantee that it will continue after that.

Ok Daryll, thanks for the info. I've already given my notice to 3 (although they did say they would be back in touch to better the o2 deal-but I doubt they will be able to).

So,if the free extra offer on the clear 350 plan is still available in 3 weeks ill be moving to that, along with a mate of mine who I convinced to move also(he has given his notice to meteor);)

    Hi Daryll,

do you know when the iphone 3gs will be back in stock? I was told this Friday by staff in one of the o2 branches in Dublin, is this still on track?

    Thanks.
