Concrete polishing & Concrete worktops

    I am curious to know if there is ANYONE in Ireland doing this at the moment.. the worktops seem to be very big in the US at the moment, and I am toying with the idea of doing something like that in my kitchen.

    I also have concrete stairs and I am thinking it might be cool to "polish" the sides and vertical parts of the steps rather than plaster and paint it..

    .. don't know if this is possible...

    can you hire equipment to do this yourself ?!

    ... just thinking out loud here ....

    Like the ones in Fu Tung Chengs books?
    You can probably do the grinding yourself, with a diamond head grinder, the colourings are harder to get over here.
    Noty sure about the other stuff, there are people around that do that kind of thing but the ones I know of don't do it commercially just for friends etc.
