Looking at buying one. anyone have any thoughts/recommendations on this helmet? should i spend the extra cash and get an atmos? are there any good rival helmets at similar or lower prices?

I had a Monza before I crashed last winter, it was a great helmet but I prefer the one i have now, a Met Inferno, much lighter and more comfortable.

I have 2 Monza's. They are fine, same fit really as the Atmos and Ionos, just a little heavier (not that it truly makes a difference). I am not crazy about the size of them, I find that they look quite big and like the look of the Bell and Spiuk helmets a lot more. That said 3 years with the Monzas, no problems and no brain damage despite going head first into the tarmac on a number of occasions.

Giro Saros is a new helmet they've released, if you're considering a Monza I'd take a butcher's at it.

I have a Giro shaped head, and a Giro shaped heart for that matter.
