Okay, i kind of feel bit stupid posting this but i have to ask. So was well happy with myself the other nite changing over my pedals and putting on the clipless look keo clasics (one of the old ones was a mare to get off and im very far from a handy man - but want to try do as much stuff myself rather than just shipping bike off to lbs) . Bt guess what i couldnt work my damn track pump properly (im clearly an idiot), I boutght the sks air x-press control track pump.

So here is a few dumb questions to help me get it exactly right.

    1. It has 2 connections, do i use the top one or the bottom one? im thinking the bottom one because the top one seems to let air out. i.e when you put it on the little node in the middle seems to hit the bit that releases air from the tire

    2. I assume that it then goes directly on to and fully over the tire valve, i.e no connection is required. (and covers the valve almost fully)

    3. and then i press down the lever at the back to keep it in place.

basically i did all this and pumped away, but the air pressure doesnt really seem to show proper on the gauge, goes up and down and all over the palce (i bought the track pump for this reason). The tyre doesnt go up and its not easy at all to pump.

using a hand pump is a pain in the ass and way too hard to get up to 120 - 125psi

    thanks in advance

It's the smaller of the holes and you pull the lever up to make the seal, not down.

I presume you have presta valves (non car tyre ones) - in which case did you unscrew the little cap at the top of the valve (on the tube) a bit?

Then you use the smaller of the two holes from the pump, you might need to press it "firmly" onto the valve and then either you twist the pump head or lift a lever to "lock" it onto the valve.

If it is shrader (car valve type) you need to use (obviously) the larger pump hole, and press it firmly on again (more difficult) as it needs to slightly press in the centre pin of the valve.

Hope all this makes sense, if it doesn't I'll try to find pictures.
