Why doesn't your business make as much money as Google?

What was the answer? Very valid question.

Sorry just read the rest of it there, was pretty boring to be honest and they totally avoided the question. "We have a very different model to Google" and "that's not a relevant or fair comparison". The first one is acceptable, the second one is a crock of crap!!! Of course it's relevant as they are both search engines.

Problem with Yahoo was that it sort of was a search engine and sort of was your 'portal' (such a 90s term). Search tended to get you to leave Yahoo, yet content was aimed to keep you there. Pulling in two directions.
Google is however mostly a search engine and at first was only a search engine. It doesn't do content so much as an amazing set of tools (mail, maps, docs etc.) that fit with search, which is primarily a tool.
And of course, they cracked the advertising-search model, without which they wouldn't earn as much as they do.
