Is my wii broke?

    Hello all,

I tried to power on my wii today for the first time in about 9 months but something strange is happening.

    1. I plug it in.

    2. Power button displays a RED light.

    3. When I press the Power, Eject or Reset button, the power button turns green for half a second & the blue light where the cd goes flicks on for a split second also.

    4. Then the wii shuts down & will not power on until I disconnect & reconnect to power cord from the rear.

I have tried plugging it into different plug sockets but I get the same problem? Anybody any ideas? Is there an Irish wii helpline number?

P.s I just tried it with another wii power cord & im getting the same problem so it must be my wii unit itself ?

    Thanks
    Joe

It looks bad for you unfortunately. Well it might be your wii, are you sure the second power cord works with another Wii? Also try out your power cord if you can with another Wii.

Step 2 is normal, my wii always displays a red light while it is plugged in.

Did you leave it plugged for any period during the past 9 months? I'm thinking maybe a power surge might have damaged it.

Other than that did anything happen to it like for example dropping it, etc.?

Best bet would be to ring them up and see. If its less than 12 months old they might fix it for free for you.

It was unplugged the whole time & sitting under the tv unit so It wouldnt have been dropped or damaged that way. Ill have to try & find the warranty:mad:

Maybe its something small like alot of dust clogging up the unit?

I rang the support centre in England. I have to send it to them & they will give me a price or cost to fix it. I just realized that my wii fit disc is in the unit. Ill have to send a note with the unit & make sure they send the disc back also:o
