New iPhone 3GS & Wife's iTunes Library

    Hi Folks,

Looking for some advice. I'm getting the new 3GS tomorrow. My wife already has a 3G and an extensive iTunes library on her laptop with plenty of purchased music and apps.

I'm wondering if I should authorize my new phone on this library or set-up my own from scratch on my own computer.

    Any thoughts? Benefits/disadvantages either way?

    Thanks!

    Kix

Both phones should be able to sync with the same library - you can even configure one to only sync certain playlists etc rather than the full library. But I think both will end up having the same set of apps also, which might be an issue for you.

Can't you use a different windows account on the same laptop and add your wife's media to your version of iTunes

Seamus: Thanks! That's what I thought might be the case.

Keith: It's a pair of Macs, but I guess in theory, I could alright, I'm just not sure if I'd keep having to use her iTunes account? Not a problem, really. Again, thanks.

    Kix,

The media that your wife bought through iTunes - isn't tied to her iTunes account - you are free to add it to your library.
And when you start your version of iTunes, you will be asked for your own iTunes credentials (credit card etc. needed even for downloading free apps).

At a wild guess anyhow ...
