Maybe its just me but im pretty pis*ed off with the CAP 2's

SFMA? WTF nightmare paper, audit you just never know, financial reporting i did shi* in that too. Roll on tax.

Reckon im a dead cert for repeating at least two.

The people who set the papers dont seem to be too familiar with the textbooks or the lectures.

    Made me smile!!

Its been a rotten week..The exams are really not relevant to what has been in the text books or covered in lectures.. Looking forward to end of exam feedback form we will get from them. Hopefully Tax is ok,I cant go back to work and say i failed all 4!

Agree with this... I don't know if it's a failing of the lecturers to communicate the syllabus in the correct manner, or whether the examiners are just being unnecessarily awkward.

I thought Audit was ok, it was a challenging paper where you needed to understand the subject - exactly what they were hoping to achieve.

SFMA - wtf.... completely unrepresentative of pretty much anything anyone covered. I've spoken to one person who was happy!!

FR - I thought it was a fair paper.... started with Q4 and Q2 before tackling the case study. Q4 was an extremely generous question. Q2 was alright... manageable I thought. The EPS part of Q1 was very similar to the summer 2006 prof III Q5, but the rest of the question.... wtf????? Soooo random... 8 marks for ethics related Q's?? The adjustments in the consol itself were so random as well. That big one with the sale of the plants was horrific.

I THINK I may have done enough to scrape the 3.... really not confident at all with that.

Tomorrow's gonna suck... I'm just gonna try do the simple things right and pick up marks after that!!

At least 2 possibly 4. Has been the worst set of exams I think I've ever sat. Fingers crossed on scraping a pass on Audit & SFMA.

Fin Rep = Epic Fail. Always struggled with it, but had put a lot of time into it at the expense of tax and now today was a nightmare. Had let tax slide so tomorrow wont be much fun either.

Had said beforehand I'd actually be ok with passing 2, but I'm not 100% on getting the 2 I planned on. Passed Audit and SFMA in the mocks but found the real papers more difficult, just vague in Audit and largely irrelevant to the course material in SFMA.

I only did SFMA and probably failed it. The lecturers are not good in my opinion. Jim Daly is very poor lecturer. I did the prof 3 MABF and he just seems to do the same things in every lecture like variances should have cost but did cost etc. He's a pure chancer. The other lad his name escapes me but like in all fairness if you didnt go to any of his lectures you would probably be better off. Its unreal and I heard that both lecturers are given the paper in draft by the examiner to review to see if its fair before its printed.

Yeah, I can't wait until they say that question 1 in Finance was a straightforward question and that students who studied it should do well in it.

I never understood why consolidations weren't done as a Continuous Assessment test early in the year, leaving everything else in there. It was just way too confusing for me and threw me off for the whole paper, was raging.

Definitely two failed, and two up in the air could go either way. Not a great return on the investment put into lectures, study etc.

Sorry... having put so much into those exams and not getting anything back it was always gonna be a liability that that would happen.

Basically you emailed the 'students union' and they comprise a report and send it to the examiners summarising the bulk of people's issues I think. Well that's the understanding I got.

Heard today a story that at least 2 of the big 4 have made representations to the Institute over the exams. Theym won't listen to us IMO but if the firms get involved they'll take notice.

That report pretty much nails it. Bit late in the day now though. Agreed with everything for Audit,SFMA,Fin Rep. Couldn't comment on Tax because failing that was my own fault.

I think I'll be forwarding that on to my boss prior to results coming out as a warning!
