Fine Tune V8

    I will be soon replacing the seized V8 in the P6. This is courtesy of a purchase of a new block from another boards member. Whom shall remain nameless as he has voluteered his services for the refit.;)

    I will be adding an edelbrock 500 system etc. the engine when completed will be running, but between us we do not have the skills or equipment to fine tune the engine.
    Does anyone know where I can get the engine tuned after refit? Preferably leinster area.:confused:

    Tom in ETS nth richmond street is very handy at tuning those rover v8's, bentley, mercs you name it. He has an eye for engines. Likwise he stripped and rebuilt a v6 merc there recently as quick as lightening. saw him also do a few buicks.

    Try Jim Robinson in Balymena for your V8 parts - I can guarantee you he will be cheaper than buying from the UK. I got an Edelbrock 500 from him for my V8 for £100 cheaper than Rpi in the UK. You can contact him through his website JRV8.co.uk or on 028 25861500.

    He supplied me with a re-con hi-output alternator for £50. Have also got a Mallory electronic distributor from him for good money.

    Best of all he is extremely knowledgable and willing to help !!

    Thanks for the contacts, esp the tuning one. I have been in corrispondence with Jim over a number of items before this. As described he is more than helpful. As you have suggeted I am currently ordering parts from him. I have dealt with RPI etc and they are professional, but I have to say that I went for Jim because he gave advice and didn't try the hard sell. :cool:
