    Hey,
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just got the 705 the other day. went for a spin - everything good. downloaded training centre and transfered my ride from history to training centre. Everything still good. Went for another ride the next day and tried to transfer this ride to training centre also but it wont transfer. I deleted the old ride and tried again but still no luck. went for a third ride and still no luck. All the data is in the history which i can view no problem but it just won't transfer to training centre. Would be much obliged if anyone out there could help me. Thanks.

Try transferring data from Garmin Connect back onto 705 THEN transfer back onto Connect. Worked for me. cheers

    Thanks 07Lapierre,

Just tried that. it told me all data transfered correctly but it didn't transfer any data from connect to garmin or garmin to connect. Thanks anyway.

Have you tried www.motionbased.com I might be worth a try.

Can you get the files off the device OK? E.g. drag and drop in Windows Explorer from your Garmin\History folder on the device. Also, try Sporttracks instead of the disaster that is Training Center.

If the Garmin crashes mid ride (happens a lot) then the history files can get corrupted. Usually easy enough to fix them. SportTracks will tell you if they are.

Only other option i can think of is to connect the garmin to your PC and open the history folder and drag the files directly to your PC. Thats as far as my IT knowledge goes. Best of Luck.

    Thanks lads,
Downloaded sportTracks. Tried to import data. Again it told me the import was complete but no data was imported. Think i'll be getting on to garmin!

    Thanks again.

Post up the .tcx file and I'll have a look at it.

Hope I attached them correctly. These are the .tcx files from Profile and Workouts.

    Thanks Blorg,

There should be a history folder where the data gets saved. Try there.

    Hey Curaldo,

Just tried importing yer files but no joy. Those files look way too small, definitely something not right there. I've had 2 recent spins feck up as well, so I'm going to try the next firmware version, just BEWARE of you decide to upgrade, a others have pointed out here, all your history will be cleared .... but if its all corrupted, its of no use anyway.

history isn't cleared(at least it wasn't for me and someone else on here), just all your settings/profile stuff

    Well,

My garmin seems to be back working properly again. I pulgged into another computer and downloaded training centre again. When i attached the device to the computer a pop up box appeared on the screen telling me some of the files on the device may be corrupt and do i want them to be fixed. Obviously i hit "yes". And that was that. went for a couple of spins and they uploaded no problem. This is what garmin told me to do when i emailed them if your interested: Thanks again for all the help.

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.

There have been some issues identified with version 2.70 software on the
Edge where it appears to make the history files corrupt when writing the
data. There are a few things we can try to retrieve the data, the first
step is to turn any history that you can?t upload into courses. To do
this go to Menu > Training > Courses > Create New then select the
history file. This will create a course file so that if the history file
is corrupt you will at least have the course file as a record.
Next, if you are using Windows then please connect the device to the
computer, and go to My Computer. Right click on the Edge and choose
    Properties.
Click on the Tool tab and click on the Check Now button. A pop up box
will appear. Please check mark both boxes and press Start.
(If you are using a Mac then open a new Finder Window
    Go to Applications - Utilities
    Select Disk Utility
Select the GARMIN Drive and click Verify, at which point an error with
    the disk will be detected.
Select the GARMIN drive again and click Repair. A Change will then be
    made to the drive)
This is a possibility that this could fix it, but not a guarantee,
please retry the transfer after this.

If the data hasn?t uploaded then from the Courses folder on the Edge you
should be able to back up the rides that have been turned into courses.
Copy the rides from this folder to a location on your computer, there is
a third party piece of software which may then allow you to convert
these course files back to history files. This can be found at the
    following link:

    http://www.teambikeolympo.it/TCXConverter/TeamBikeOlympo_-_TCX_Converter/DOWNLOADS.html

Once the programme is installed, you can click TCX and select the file
you exported. Click on the name of the course and wait for the detailed
data to appear. Then click Save .TCX File, name the file and choose to
Save as History Track. You will be asked for your weight for calorie
calculation purposes. Enter this, then click Go. The file will be saved
as history. On Training Center, click File - Import - History and select
the file. This should then be shown in Training Center.

Unfortunately if there are any problems in peforming this conversion we
cannot support this third party piece of software, however it may
    provide you with a solution.

The next step is to update the software to version 2.80 using the
    WebUpdater from http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/

If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know.
