Call of Duty WAW Noobs Thread

I am new to this online thing. I cant manage and always get humiliated whenever I play. Its on PS3. How does one learn? How to become an effective player?

I never played it much but the M1 Garand and the ppsh are the best weapons in my opinion, knowing the choke points and the spawns gets you a lot of kills.

Ironically your right. I got 1 kill only and it was with the M1 Garand, love that gun! BAR is the next best gun.

How do you keep aware of what behind you. Id be looking at someoneway off in front of me and some sneak gets me from behind. What sort of tactics should be used when moving?

This is exactly how your going wrong.

They are both crap guns.

What game modes do you play? And do you play core or hardcore?

I use M1A1 Aperture/ STG 44 for hardcore and MP40 for core.

These ARE the best guns.

Can you get these guns when you start off or do you have to go looking?
I play CORE begineer so far.

MP40 is unlocked on level 10, the thompson is also good u start off with it.

And the gewehr 43 is a rifle if u have a good trigger finger, it's on level 7.

these are all good guns for core.

search and destroy?
team deathmatch?
free for all?

try using the camoflauge perk,keeps ya off the radar

I play cod mdern warfare and started waw recently. I struggled at MW for a while, only getting a couple of kills. Think it's just a matter of getting used to it. Im up to level 49 on ModW and 19 on Waw. The thing i find is that when starting off you need to be patient so I wouldn't be running around every corner for someone to blow my head off. Stay close to walls. Use them as cover. Also if you do get camof. stay in one spot for a while, wait for a couple of enemies to come along, kill them and change your location. Best guns to start off with are machine guns. MP40 is a good one. I also like the heavier ones for longer range.

I have to say been playing MW for a few weeks now and went back to WAW. Got loads kills more than i usually do. Its as if i have got a bit sharper playing the MW game. Had been playing WW first. Takes a bit of time to rack up the kills but practice and you'll be there. I've been using the stg quite a bit recently as got fed up with mp40.

thats right, i have improved a bit after playing it for a while. I find that been a rifle man is my fortet so far, slow aiming when approching new areas and waiting to see if anything moves in the distance, then flank them and presto its killing time!

If someone see's you, be carefull when you go looking for them.

Pick weapons carefully for each level.

Large lvl's - scoped rifle

Medium - small - machine gun, bolt action, shotgun.

Watch out for bettys and over head areas.

Cant aim or simply dont want to????
Worry no more with my simple COD:WaW skillz clazz.
Simply get a 1x MP40 with double clip 1x juggernaut and most importantly 1x steady aim perk.
Now simply run around firing this gun without aiming down the barrel(very important) at anything that moves.
Congratulations you are now a pr0 player.
Alternatively if you are gifted enough to master holding down the aim button martyrdom is an excellent substitute for steady aim.

Ive really improved. Unlocked this crazy machine gun with a big circular drum of bullets, cant rem the name, but got the BIpod for it aswell and it is lethal when used.

I found that acting like a real soldier keeps you alive on the field. Always look 360 degree when moving into a new area and when doing so crouch down next to some cover. If you see anything move, zoom steady and nail the infedals! Seek ulp on them all that kind of thing.

For WaW the best weapon is def the MP40, it's even better with the round drum attachment. You get this when you get 150 kills with the MP40.

As a newcomer to the game it may help you if you use weapons with silencers. This stops you showing up as a red dot on the enemy map when you fire your weapon. This allows you the chance to fire at enemies and miss and still not show up on the enemy map even if you are right beside him. (It does not stop you showing up as a red dot when the enemy calls in a recon plane, you will need camouflage for this)

To get a silencer/flash hider you need to complete the first challenge for the particular weapon you are using, this normally means getting 25 kills with the particular weapon. Silencers/flash hiders are not available on machine guns or bolt action rifles. You can check out the attachments for each weapon in Create a Class.

As for staying alive just make sure you check your surroundings, especially corners of rooms in buildings and be aware of martyrdom when you kill an opponent, listen for the clink of a grenade dropping after you kill an enemy.

Yeah the DP28, pretty OK heavy machine gun. Can be a bit shaky and not very mobile, but if used correctly its a really good gun, the sight on it is good, coz its semi circle, therefore does not block the view like the MP40. MP40 is really good up close

Would love to have a sniper and machine gun combo as a class option, dont think this is possible!

The overkill perk will allow you to carry both.
