    hi all , looking for some help . recently got made redundant , like most people have the mortgage , bills etc . looks like i will be waiting on the dole for another couple of weeks . question is ,

    1. is there anyone i cant get help from while waiting on my dole , ie financial help

    2.i have the mortgage by myself so reckon i will be struggling with loans etc . is there anything at all i can claim for from the government other than the dole

    any help appreciated

    First off, Tell your lender. Keep them informered of your circumstances.
    Also, if you like, you can request a 3 month payment holiday from payments - this may get you to where your dole comes in.
    Consider renting out a room too if not already.

    You can apply for Mortgage interest relief as well. this will help pay some of your mortgage. you must go and see your local community welfare officer at your local heath centre (this is applied for through the HSE and not the social welfare) and he will give you the nessessary forms. you have to send the forms to your lender and have them fill it out.

    Secondly you can apply for a medical card. again the CWO will talk to you about this.

    Make an appointment with MABs straight away.

    They're very busy these days but they are invaluable.
