The 128 passes Clare Hall every 10 minutes and operates direct to the city centre continuing through to Rathmines via Nassau Street and St Stephen's Green.

The 27 operates every 10 minutes from Clare Hall to Talbot Street but takes a far more circuitous route via Coolock.

The 27X follows the 27 routing but goes non-stop from Donnycarney church.

there's also the 42 and 43, though they're not terribly frequent. There's a good selection of buses in general, 128 is every 10 mins at rush hour, and every 15 to 20 outside of that. It's dead handy that it goes all the way to Rathmines!

Actual times in to town can vary wildly depending on time of day. Off peak you'd be in town in 20 to 30 mins, peak times around an hour, less if you are only heading as far as northside of the city centre. There's a few black spots where traffic gathers and you can be left sitting a long time, quite frustrating.

It's also worth noting the Dart station (Howth Junction) is about a 25 minute walk, might be something to consider. Hope this helps :)

The 128 is the most convenient if you're crossing through the city centre but it's a very popular (read: slow) bus in the mornings. If you're going to close to Connolly, Talbot St, or O'Connell St, you're better off getting a 42/43 if you can.

Clongriffen station, a few hundred metres north of Grange Road (continuation of Clare Hall road) is explected to open later in the year or early next year, it is the other terminus for the 128.

The 128 is a great service, you can get the 29a as well.

Just a little note on this, what's traffic like commuting from Clarehall to northbound on the M1? Black spots for traffic delays or easy to get out of? Talking about morning about 8.30am?

Usually you'll be flying up to the M1. Occasionally there might be a 5 minute queue for the lights at Clare Hall shopping centre and a 5-10 minute queue at the N32 but both of these are very rare these days.

Made my day, thank you. Looking into moving here but would be wary of traffic! Thank you!
