The Sugar Ray - the best boxer to ever walk the planet not the later middleweight of the 1970's and 80's.

At the risk of getting banned or "sounding gay" the man gives me a horn! Has there ever been a better boxer?

Six hours of solid in depth analysis from boxing historians and fighters who graced the canvas with him.

I hope you guys in "the ould sod" have access to this station. riviting stuff!

Damn, ESPN classic is part of some subscription package on Sky now and I don't have it so no weird man horn for me.

The phrase pound for pound was coined to describe just how good this guy is.
Very few old day fighters leave me in awe..........infact even Ali I can watch and think 'he was extremely good' but it doesn't have the same effect on me that watching Robinson does.

The Speed, timing, reflexes, excitement(he was great to watch) and this is a guy that could literally knock you out with the much talked about '6 inch punch'. People often talk about a 6 inch punch in relation to Joe Louis but Robinson was even more devastating with it.

I'm someone who's actually quite dismissive of older era's and see them for what they were. Eg nowdays Marciano would be a severely undersized Heavyweight(he'd actually be fighting at Cruiser) who lacks technical ability and fights chin first. Someone like Chagaev(a small heavyweight himself) would take him to the cleaners and stop him after a brutal beating.

You usually have to take into account how good a fighter was......for their era. However I don't feel like this with Robinson. His greatness transcends eras

After all that raving; any chance of including a day and time that this is on?

I have this station in my Sky package. Channel 442 it is.
They show a lot of great old sport and boxing does get a fair lick!

As much as Ray was a complete and great fighter, I don't think it gets any
better than watching a 200+ lb Clay/Ali in action.

The speed and grace and movement for such
a big man in the best of the best IMO!

    Parts two and three!

Best I could come up with. This says 1340 hrs today, very early, so I won't see it
Then tomorrow at 1345 it is also on, again, I won't see it

And, looks like part 1 was shown already!

    Miguel Cotto
    Shane Mosely
    Floyd Mayweather
    Antonio Margarito
