Unlock dvd region

    Hey, has anyone unlocked their dvd before so that the region doesn't matter. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-5560A drive. I have some DVD's from Oz and some from home but using MediaDirect I can only change the region five times.
    Can someone tell me how to unlock this (I know it can be done) or direct me to a place where has the info how?

    No way to unlock the hardware. But some software simply chooses to ignore that :)

    download VLC player.

    Funnilly enough, that doesnt work on my laptop.

    Windows, Linux.. VLC, Mplayer, anything at all. I just get errors if I try play a wrong region DvD
