    Hey,

Thinking of getting this since its cheap and i could trade in crappy games for it.

I need an arcade street racer fix. Anyone have it and have any opinions on it?

I loved Midnight Club Dub edition on PS2. On the other side, I was thinking of getting Burnout Paradise but played the demo and hated it. Do all the expansions make it any better?

    Thanks for feedback!!

If you don't have it already I'd pick up Burnout Paradise instead. It's great. Haven't played midnight Club, but as far as I remember it got pretty poor reviews.

Burnout is annoying because of this "open world" lark but it's a better racing experience then Midnight club LA

Yeah the open world part of it can be annoying at times, I think they've fixed the most annoying aspect of it with the latest patch as far as I know. If you fail a race you don't have to go drive all the way back to the start point of it any more, you can just hit retry. That was always the biggest pain for me with the game, especially when you were down to the last few events.

82 out of 100 on MetaCritics. Is that pretty poor? I could never understand, how can people judge games, when they never even played them...

Midnight Club is 74 out 356 best game for PS3. I really enjoyed the game, more than Burnout Paradise. It is from RockStar (creators of GTA IV). If you can, I would definitely go for Midnight Club Los Angeles! If you will not like it, I will swap my Burnout Paradise for it :p

I must've been thinking of another game then, maybe Need for Speed. I wasn't judging the game either, I didn't say it was crap, I said I thought it got poor reviews which, if it had, may have helped the OP make up his mind on whether or not to get it. There's a difference.

I just offered my opinion on Burnout Paradise, which I have played.

Just because it was made by Rockstar doesn't automatically make it good either, every company can make a bad game, no matter how unlikely it is. So sue me for getting two games confused. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight I'll be so wracked with guilt and I'll probably end up sending Rockstar the money the OP would've spent on the game just to go someway to make amends.

all squabble aside, I think I will go for Midnight Club. I like real cars and customisation, only thing putting me off is rubberband ai (damn the person who invented that!!!)

Burnout should have stuck to its roots gameplay wise, played demo again and totally put me off.

If you didn't like the demo you're probably better off sticking with Midnight Club so. The demo pretty much covered all the bases.

    Thanks all!

now another decision has arose. HMV are selling COD 4 for 29.99. I wanted to get it for some time (ear burnt off me that its the best online game ever) but it was always 60 quid, not paying that for a 2 year old game!

I can probably guess the response if i said Midnight Club or COD 4?????

Lol, well for me it would be COD4, but I prefer FPS games to racing games in general. COD4 is amazing, the single player is excellent but slightly on the short side. But what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. As far as I know it still has a really strong following online, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting into games and stuff. The only thing is you'd be coming up against people who've been playing it for over a year so might get your arse handed to you more often than not at the start. But yeah it's worth picking up, but if you're more of a racing fan you might rather Midnight Club.
