Anyone had a go at the homemade headset press, long piece of threaded metal with some washers and nuts?

What's good for homemade removal of cups ?

Yeah I used one for my Chris King 1" threaded headset it was okay. In the ne dI think I just used a hammer and a peice of wood but the headset press was a good start.... cost a total of 3 euro from b&q

A long long long screwdriver was what I used, combined with one hammer, a sore thumb and plenty of shouting... I'm sure thats the EURO way.

I wouldn't touch my carbon bike with any of these tools....

Yep, have a threaded bar for installing but I use a piece of wood rather then a screwdriver for removing cups.

Thats a good idea -- mine were rusted in so whacking the old ones out weren't a problem... It took some force I must say.

Another thing is to place some cardboard or plastic between the washers on the press and the shiny new cups so as not to spoil them.
My bike tools are out on loan or I'd post a pic of this fancy piece of engineering.:p
