    Hi,

I’m due to be made redundant in the next month, I will receive a nice bit of money but its all going on a stupid car loan, I went in to talk about getting the grant today and was told I might not be eligible as the grants board only look at the income from the lump sum not the outgoings, is there anyway around this? Was anyone else in a similar situation?

If you were made redundant you would apply under a 'change in circumstances' - best to ring up and ask about this.

I'm unsure - the plans were for the VECs to handle all the applications from this year, but the regulations aren't out yet. Best to give either the Council or the VEC a call before you send it in either way to check what the latest is. They'll have the most uptodate information.
