    Hi Guys

I've been looking into buying a bike to commute to work (6 miles round trip).

I've narrowed down my choices to 2. Trek 7.3 and the Specialized Sirrus Comp.

The Trek is €200 cheaper but thanks to the cycle to work scheme i dont have much worries about the cost.

I know nothing about bikes (carbon forks, upgraded gears, disc brakes) and not really sure if i need all the bells and whistles. Im just after a good bike to use daily

So if you had the choice would you get the Trek or Specialized

    Thanks for your help

    any help at all guys.

    Trek 7.3

    or

    Specalizied Sirrus Comp

the sirrus comp seems the better bike (carbon frame, forks) but do i really need such a good bike for a 3 mile trip.

i know the carbon bikes are lighter = faster but is there much of a difference to justify the extra cost

Sure go for the better bike, why not. You might find you like it and go for spins at the weekend. Just make sure you get a good chain and ulock if you'll be locking it up in work
