Cycling Tours

That price doesn't seem that excessive given the support provided. Depends what you are after really, touring with panniers is quite liberating and you can keep to your own schedule... On the other hand I certainly appreciate multi-day cycles on my light road bike with my luggage transferred too- only one of them I have done was the Tour of Ireland and it was more a sportive than a tour. Transfers are particularly valuable if you are focussing on the really hilly stuff, but you will get up with panniers, just slower. Very different types of cycling holiday really.

Consider too with an organised/supported tour the distances, e.g. is this the sort of daily distance you want to cover or would you be happier with more or less. Is there likely to be a group going at around your sort of pace, etc.
