I have a list of people in Column A.
Next to each name is Yes or No (in Column B)

In Cell C1, I would like a formula to tell me what percentage of people responded Yes.

The fact that the number of people in column A varies is obviously an added complication...

    Thanks
    B

Assuming that column A contains the names the range is A1 to A65536

to count the number of rows which contain data use counta(A1:A65536)

if B contains Yes or No in the range B1 to B65536 use countif(B1:B65536,"Yes") to count the number of Rows with "Yes" in the range

    therefore C1 = countif(B1:B65536,"Yes")/counta(A1:A65536)
