That will only tell you what year it was reg'd, if you want more detail and a model year look for the M-plate behind the passenger seat.

    between '73 and '80 I'd imagine, it's a late baywindow van, isn't it?
I've PM'd you on T2I re wheelbase, all the years of the late baywindow are the same BTW ;)

    How's that for vague? :D

I have no idea what year that reg is but there were a lot of changes in the early '70s, it's important you get the right model when buying parts.

    If it's after '73 it's not such a problem.

I was told it was a '73 but just needed it confirmed! Surely somebody knows how the old systems of regs works?

January 78 to be really pedantic, though it could still be a 73 bus,if it was imported here in 78 it would have got a 78 reg.

it all depends on wheel offset. If you're upsizing the wheels to get some extra width you need to be careful with the width and offset selection. I've only got standard wheels and tyres on my van so can't advise. Ask the question on type2Ireland.org :)

What month in '72? If it's August or later it's a '73 model.

third digit of the chassis number is "8" so it's a '78 model :)

    Cool :)

It would have been so much easier if they just had filled in the "Baujahr" on that plate :D
