Is there anything useful right now that I can do with the CAM slot on my Humax Foxsat HDR? Have to say I love the box but if I could get some more chnnelz out of it, I'd look into it. Right now I've got it set up in Freesat mode which keeps me happy anyway but I'm just wondering more out of curiosity than anything else.

There are plenty of report (over on DS) that people have successfully used a Dragon or TRex cam in their HDR -> they can then get Channel4HD (in non-freesat mode) with a Sky FTV card... you still need a Sky box to pop the card into every now and then for a keep-alive signal.

Even though it does work, it sounds like a lot of hassle got little gain. I've not seen any reports of people using cams for other non-28° birds... but I don't see why that wouldn't work either

    i agree.
i looked into setting it up for Setanta Sports but it seemed like too much effort, also the CAM cards are fairly expensive (£80+).

i'm happy enough with freesat+ for the moment, but hopefully the CAM slot will be used in the future.
