Hi all, had an annoying creak on my bike which i thought was coming from rear freehub,(which it turns out it wasnt-quick release smidgen too loose) took it apart, fiddled around with it, put it back together, no probs there. Had a look on mavic's tech site-it says that every time the axle is removed the "expansible bearing supports" must be replaced even if the bearings aren't. Anyone know what they're on about? Am i safe enough riding on it or is it going to spontaneously explode in a shower of springs and cogs? I know its a pretty specific question but hoping maybe someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

If they say replace, replace them. Your guarantee will be void if you do not.
If the supports are expansive, id imagine they get damaged when removed and wont have the strength needed.

Just checking did you remove the axle or the skewers, if you just played around with the skewers you should be fine.

The axles, you have to remove the whole axle to get the freehub off with aksiums. What do they mean by expansible?

id imagine that they are like a oil seal on a car and are some what elastic. You have to stretch them to get them out. So when you stranch somthing past a certain point it loses the ability to exert a given force onto somthing.
So since you have possibly lost this force, id imagine your wheels ill wear alot quicker.
