Price of Rock / stone material?

I have just dug out some rock out of a field, and have been approached by someone if I would sell some of the material which has been excavated. Its good rock / shale / hardcore type material if you were laying a passage or wanted it in a yard or the likes. I used similar stuff on one passage last year, and it has hardened up a treat to make a good surface.

But I have no idea how much something like this should go for?
Anyone have any ideas on what a good decent price (for both buyer and seller) should be? I assume it would be charged at the trailer load (altho I am unsure what size fits into a dumper trailer load?)

    Thanks.

    Gravel hardcore 1.6 tonne/m3

Measure the trailer to find cubic meters then divide by 1.6 to get weight of gravel in the trailer.

    I would imagine €5-€6/tonne.

In the north west you can buy blast rock at €6 per ton delivered by lorry. It costs at least €3 per ton to load and deliver it. You should be getting somewhere in the region of €2 to €3 per ton with no handling on it.
