No sound from iphone

    i bought a new iphone which i then got unlocked. However when i ring some i can hear them but they cant hear me. Its not set to mute. What could it be? Someone told me it might be a fault but its fairly new and its been like that since i got it

    restore, jailbreak and unlock again.
