Firefox crashing - virus??

One of the lads in work is having a problem with Firefox and has asked me to post this if you can help. Apparently he can't uninstall Firefox either. This is from the email I got from him:

One of the lads in work is having a problem with Firefox and has asked me to post this if you can help. Apparently he can't uninstall Firefox either.

This is from the email I got from him:

mozilla firefox not starting on my computer
ie not starting either
msn explorer working but cant download
3 poker sites connecting and working fine
firefox giving me a crash report
not working in safe mode either
cant uninstall firefox from add remove programs
ran a full scan with avg and adaware professional no change
restored settings back 2 weeks before problem started no change
uninstalled ie 7 and downloaded ie 8 no change
added the sites to exceptions in firewall no change
im baffled
