last remaining doubts about switching!

    Hi Folks,

After going through alot of the posts on here, I've been more or less convinced to finally make the switch from 3 to O2 and join the ranks of iPhone owners. Hoping to get a billpay 3GS on Friday.

I just have a few niggling doubts though, that I was hoping some of you might be able to help me out with - apologies if these have already been covered:

    1. I go up North alot, and I spoke to a rep in the O2 store (in Dublin) who told me I'd be able to use my monthly minutes/texts there without incurring roaming charges (similar to what I do now on 3). Is this right? I can't find anything about it on their website and I also remember asking them about this before I signed up with 3 and they didn't offer it then.

    2. If not, what sort of roaming charges apply to using an application like Eirtext Pro abroad? I only heard about this on here in the past few days, so don't know much about it. Do you pay to download the app and then it's free to use, or vice versa, or neither!?

I'm sure more questions will come out of some of your replies, but I think thats it for now anyway!

Really appreciate any guidance you can give me here.

    Cheers

I'm 99% sure your inclusive minutes and txts do not work up there and neither does your bandwith.

Using Eiretxt pro will probably cost you more in data charges than actually sending a sms.

I checked my email a few times up north last month and it cost me about 15euro, and that was just plain txt!

If you come through the O2 forum we can add the minutes for the north you are speaking about(this does not include texts or data). It is not available through all the channels thats why you would not have heard of it.

Where is this O2 forum you speak of?

I don't want to advertise in my post so I put the link in my signature.

Yes you do, so if he does join O2 and the forum I can add it for him when he asks. I can't do it before he is our customer obviously :)

Can you tell me a bit more about this please? Not quite sure I follow - do you mean "add" as in I pay to add a seperate package on top of my priceplan, or you include them in the existing monthly minutes?
