    Anywayyyyyyyy

after months of looking for a job in Germany finally got asked for an interview, said I was in Ireland and if they could re arrange the date for next week.

got an email back which after a few times reading it basically translated into

do you know this is not such a career move for you perhaps and that the pay is ****.

    ummmmm

    !!

    Dear Mr.XXXXX,

I didn't realize, that you still live in Ireland and will have great efforts and expenses for this appointment. Are you aware, that the job our institute is offering, is not really a job for making a good carrier and being well paid? Please have a look on the following webpage http://OOOOOOO-OOOO/ for information - the group for your salary will be E8.

Hope, that you are not dissapointed.

    Yours sincerely,

    >>>>>>>>>

I said in an email back salary isn't everything, and mentioned experience and new skills etc, also going to Germany is no problem and certainly not a lot of expense.

I have not got an email back, maybe she thinks I am over qualified for the role but found the way she fobbed off the job a bit surprising. The job is a Electronic Engineering position in a well known Institute, so kinda a R&D job

Sorry about this. I am looking for work for some time for work in Germany and got a interview with a recruitment agency for the next day despite be clearly putting fluently on my cover letter in German that I live in Ireland. I also was called Frau which I don't think is anyone professional. I wrote back explaining the situation and I am still to receive a reply back!!!!! Like in Ireland i think a lot of agencies/firms in Germany take the piss-take with candidates. Hopefully something will work out.

I have lost respect with Germans regarding trying to get a job there

OP, I work with Germans quite regularly and I think what you see as "fobbing off" is just the way that communication takes place in Germany; It tends to be quite direct. So, they may just be looking to clarify the situation with you. I wouldn't read too much more than that into it.

As for recruitment agencies, well, they are just the same all over.

don't lose hope in working in Germany. this was a one off hopefully. Soon hopefully you will be working there. Best of luck. One thing that is certainly different is that in Germany you need to send the cv, references, photo with the initial application whereas in Ireland you just send the CV! I will keep on trying anyways
