    anyone know where i can get this down around town
    one garage quoted 120 euro to read fault with their hi-tech laptop !!!

    See can you edit this thread title to "Somebody wanted with VAG-COM".
    VAG-COM is the software and interface used to read Skoda's and other makes. €120 seems like a lot to get a Fault Code.

    If you have a laptop you can buy one for about €250 and use it for any VW, Audi, late model SEATs and SKODAs

    edit: nm, thought Vag-Com was the manufacturers licenced stuff.

    I have one of the 10 quid ropey eBay serial VAG-COM cables if it's any use. It will read fault codes with the free version of the software. Don't really have any need for it since I've moved on to other cars.
