Hi all, just wondering about an issue that i have. I enrolled in a full-time course, which runs for a year, last year. All the taught elements of the course finished in April, and ever since i've been looking for a job, but can't get anything. I'm broke now, and dependent on friends, which sucks. I'd like to claim the dole (benefit, as i have enough cons-worked full time prior to college), but the snag is this: I have a thesis to write over the summer. Hand-up date is in october. I have no classes, nothing whatsoever. And no money no job but willing and ready to start employment. What's my status, seeing as i am not officially "finished" the course?? :(
thanks in advance 4 any pointers

You could try but if social welfare know you were in college they will look for letter from them to say when you finish. Are you living at home? If not you could try your community welfare officer and explain your situation, i.e, you are looking for full time work and doing your thesis at night.
