No wedding album

Got married last May 1st 2008. Received proofs on 10th June and paid in full on this date also. After a 3 month delay on our part we got back to him with our decision on what photos we wanted in our album. We were supposed to get back to him after a month.

Because we were 3 months late he added another 3 months this to the timeframe, which we accepted. Which should have brought us up to March.

Mt wife has constantly been on the phone to him and he is just spinning yarns about what we agreed. We know somebody who knows him so we get the inside scoop as to what he does and says. Takes a month off here, goes on holidays at the drop of a hat.

He is very good and clearly become too big for his boots as I hear he does international shoots also.

We still haven't received the album, it is now nearly July 2009!!. We have not got anything in writing either.

Can anything be done about this photographer. Have we got a leg to stand on?

    Any input very welcome

Sounds to me like he has lost his mojo. Did you have a contract with him? I would sen him a registered letter requesting immediate delivery of the book or refund to the value of the book since it is overdue. Give him 14 days to respond and let him no if an agreement is not reached by tehn you will contact your solicitor re suing him for breach of contract, or claiming against his insurance.

Having said that I would not blame him for swanning off on hols whenever he can, if I had the cash I'd do it too.:D;)

Do you mind me asking how much you paid? You may be able to go through the small claims court which would not be as costly as using a solicitor.

I'd put in writing all correspondence with the photographer from now on. Either e-mail or letters via snail mail, then you've a better chance of getting somewhere legally. The small claims court is a good option also.

i agree! if he wasn't able to comply to the contract then by all means he's liable to whatever damages he's done.
