2 small iTunes issues inside -

    1 - my music wont sync unless i turn the "manually manage music" off!
    i have been syncing my ipod touch since new with no issues until friday evening when i noticed that some new songs i ripped were not on my ipod despit me knowing 100% that i synced it! so now i have to turn off the manually manage icon and the go into the music tab and hit apply/sync in there!



    2 - recently i have noticed on my itunes home/summary screen an extra icon, "Encrypt iPod backup"..... i have never noticed this until now, although it could be something to do with the 3.0 update which i downloaded from iTunes today, but what is it for?

    Well, that's what manually manage music means. It won't sync, you have to drag and drop what music you want onto the iPod.

    This was introduced with 3.0 and is only really relevant to paranoid people and people who have sensitive data on their iPhones. It encrypts the backups that are made every time you sync your iPhone so that no one can access the data inside them.
