In the middle of a Self-Build, should be ready for the roof in August. I have a roofer lined up and a labour price agreed for a 20 x 12 graded slate. We love the Blue Bangor Welsh slate and I would like some feedback from anyone who may have used or considered using them in the past and if they decided on a cheaper alternative what they went for. Also, if you could let me know on price paid for slates...Cheapest quotation so far is £2.68 + VAT from Wales and then the transport home. If you would happen to recommend any supplier etc. please PM me the details. Any any information in relation to waste,,,,I've been told that Spanish/Brazilian slates are much cheaper but much higher waste and when all is weighed up the Welsh slates aren't as expensive as they appear on paper.

Anyway looking forward to any replies.... Thanks.

    Hi V6Dec

Im just in the progress of pricing up my own self build.

I see you asked a question regarding blue bangor slates.

Do you mind me asking what slates you eventually ended up going with and did you look at any alternatives. Id be interested to know the contact details of any slate suppliers you might have requested quotes from also?

    Thanks

I was out here http://www.jakesyard.com/ a few weeks ago, absolutely loads of reclaimed blue bangor slates, might be a more economical option... HTH
