38yr old, Ballyfermot-ish area, Guitarist starting a rock band

Hello.
I've been playing guitar and writing songs since my teens but never put them together properly. I'm playing to the people that like guitar solos and 7-8 minute tracks like in the led zepplin-esque era.

There are some home recordings that I'll add later tonight for you to hear exactly what I'm up to. There is one song "The Body" on myspace that works http://www.myspace.com/rasherbrennan. "Desperation" doesn't work at the mo coz it's too big for myspace, and "The Heist" is just a jam.
(I never really bothered with the myspace page after all so don't mind it)

The 3 of them were recorded in my living room as sort of sketches. There are about 8 or 9 songs in total that make up an album set that I'd love to see materialize. Well that's really the whole point... to give those songs a chance at being heard.
There are more songs too but that's another set idea I'm working on.

I'm not much for the idea of doing covers all though it's no harm to have a few party tricks in the bag too.

It's ok if you're a bit rusty, a bit battered or a bit unsure, coz I'm probably all that and more anyway, especially with my first baby on the way in November. The main thing is to give it a go and enjoy.

This starting a band thing is not going to be easy is it? Maybe people like the idea of being in a band more than the actual get up and do it side of it.
