    Have pretty much done a deal on a Mustang but cant track down some numbers on the ID plate

    VIN looks OK: hardtop from Dearborn V8 302 CID 2V but after this I cant source the numbers. The rest of the data headings are below. Does anyone know what these letters stand for ...........

    PVA
    HTG/PMA
    HTG SLEEP

    Cheers Kevin but these numbers appeared in the engine bay ID plate. They don't seem to correspond to colour, trim, axle etc......

    Are you reading this off the little tag that bolts on with the ign. coil?
    Or off the buck plate which also has the vin on it?

    Many Mustangs have been modified over the years,different engines, axels, straight 6 converted to v8,etc,its why "numbers matching" is such a big deal.

    If the buck plate is the one on the drivers side in the engine bay then thats the one that has these letters

    This may be of some help;

    Again, none of those letters match up, maybe the sequence is wrong?

    Either way I really wouldnt get too hung up about it!

    I spent a good hour searching for it last night - couldn't get anything remotely definitive!

    As Kevin says, don't stress about it too much! ;)

    Won't worry about it. I'm sure someday an answer will turn up. Main thing is to get my hands on it next weekend..........hopefully it will work out
