I've had one of those for almost a year and it has been great - reliable, fun to drive and economical. I can't help you on the servicing costs as I'm not due my annual one for another few weeks - this place is supposed to be good as an affordable Ford indie:

Are you buying straight or trading in? If buying straight you'd get a better spec and lower mileage example from the uk for a lot less than the price of that.

Otherwise ensure its been properly serviced and it should be sound enough as long as you are going to keep it for a long time. In a couple of years time the mileage on it will put most people off

im trading this in. the guy told me hed give me 4500 for mine. thats why im trying to sell it, id prob get a better deal if i just paid cash. i got the fiesta in the uk and its a turn off for people buying. feeling a bit patriotic, think id rather spend the few extra euros and have the warranty localised ya know

I had one of these for 2 years and the only problem I had with it was the rear boot lock which needed to be replaced as water leaks into the motor. The Focus is well built and the 1.6 TDCi engine is the very reliable Peugeot/Citroen unit.

That one you are looking at is a basic LX with upgraded Zetec Connection alloy wheels, seems a bit expensive to me. I would put money on it being the detuned 90bhp version too. Personally I would be looking for at least a Zetec with the 110bhp version of the same engine.

Here is a slightly newer one with similar mileage one for the same money:
