When I first sprint off, nothing happens for a split second, just like when you swish that bamboo cane. Then, almost before you've noticed, it springs ahead as though it has more energy than you've put in. It rivals carbon, steel, anything I've ridden.

I smell Panda poop.

Like any good bike review, this needs the line:

"I flew up climbs one or two gears higher than on my [insert less expensive bike], every pedal revolution turned into forward motion."

That said, I do quite like the idea of some Panda-skin SIDIs.

I doubt that would be practical. But making frames even partially from bamboo would save frame tubing manufacturers from buying thousands of tonnes of steel and aluminium per year.
