Lengthening a club

Anyone any experience of having a club lengthened? I know there are things called shaft extenders, but anyone any clue of who would do it in Dublin and a rough estimate of cost? Looking to get a putter re-lengthened.

Have you tried that golf shop in Phibsboro? They might do it...shouldn't really be more than €20ish depending on whether they insist on replacing the grip.
Fairly sure the golf studio in celbridge would do it too

The extenders themselves are only about 3 or 4 quid. The grip will have to be removed (you can slide if off if its still usable). The extender goes into the grip end (has to be epoxied) and needs to cure. Its 1 hour to 24 hours depending on the epoxy.
Once its dry, cut to length, put your layer of tape on, and slide back on the old grip.
Don't expect to pay anymore than 20 to 25 quid for it, unless you need a new grip.

Interesting, thanks lads. Peter, is this a procedure that most pro shops would likely carry out?

Usual pro-shops, I'm not sure. They only receive about 50% of the training that clubmakers receive.
If they do regripping, they might have an extender handy. If not, it might take 3 to 4 days to get one from the UK. Markie4 mentioned Celbridge Golf Studio, Derek McGrath the proprietor should have stuff like that in stock.

I got my putter lengthened a few weeks ago from 34" to 35" in the pro shop in Corrstown Golf Club in Dublin if you're anywhere near there. Pro did it for me there and then and got it back in an hour. It cost me 18 but I kept the same grip

If you have an old steel shaft handy you can use this to extend the putter too. Just cut the shaft so that you can slide it inside your putter shaft with just enough of it inside to glue it together. Then cut to whatever length you want after the glue has dried.
One other thing if you do decide to do it yourself - mark the position on the shaft of the centre of your grip before you take it off, putter grips can be a b1tch to get straight.
